Christmas traditions are great fun for family and friends. Nothing gets you in the Christmas spirit faster than sharing these. There are many traditions around the world, and some have been around for centuries. Here are 3 fantastic artificial Christmas tree traditions to try this year, and every year, if you end up loving them. Enjoy the magic of the season with the:

The Christmas Pickle

Have you ever heard of the Christmas pickle? I hadn’t either, until just a few weeks ago when I was shopping at a German Christmas market. It is not quite known where the tradition originates, but it is much loved in many American homes. How does it work? A glass pickle ornament is hidden somewhere in the Christmas tree before December 25th. Bigger pickles are used for small children, and vice versa for older. The first child to find the pickle on Christmas morning gets a special treat or gets to open the first gift. Check out these artificial Christmas trees ornaments to order yours and bring this tradition into your house this year.

Gingerbread Houses

When was the last time, if ever, you made a gingerbread house? You can feel like a kid again when you bring this tradition into your home. Are you looking for something to do at your holiday party? Have a gingerbread house building competition. No kids? No problem. Even if it’s an adults-only party, add a few drinks and this could get very interesting! It’s not only fun but delicious too. The unused materials go well with eggnog or wine if you know what we mean.

Christmas Lights and Cocoa

This was my absolute favorite Christmas tradition growing up. My family would get all bundled up, make a bunch of delicious hot cocoa and load up our thermoses, then drive to the neighborhood’s in the city that had the most Christmas lights. Together we would walk through them and admire all the hard work that went in to making these houses and yards look so special. It was wonderful! On nights where it was unusually cold or windy, we would drive through the neighborhoods instead. We didn’t let anything get in the way of our tradition, and you shouldn’t either!
